These trails were built primarily by those crazy folks at Little Ade’s Bike Shop, back when BMX was king. Dirksen became famous for its North-Shore style wooden stunts, but they have since been removed. Today it is still revered by mountain bikers and hikers. The trails here offer steep punchy climbs, grinding ascents, 180-degree tight twisty singletrack, some screaming descents, and lots of opportunity to catch air on dirt jumps.

Directions to the trail head (from Peoria):
From Peoria, cross the river into East Peoria, and head South on Route 29 (main street). Stay on this road until you reach Marquette Heights, just after you pass under the I-474 bridge. (Alternatively, you can get on I474, and take it to exit 9 at Route 29 South)
Continue South on Rt 29 toward Pekin. Shortly after Marquette Heights and North Pekin, you will come to the intersection at Route 98 (Edgewater drive). Turn left. About 2 miles up this road, look for a sign on the left for an archery range. Turn into the driveway of the archery range, and park in the lot on the right.
